Restorative bodywork is a holistic health approach reinforcing an individual's mind-heart-body connection and recognises self-healing potential. It encompasses many methods and Meridian therapy and Aquatic bodywork are two examples.
Meridian therapy originates from Oriental medicine. Meridians are the pathways that carry vital energy and information throughout the body and communicate directly with our nervous and circulatory systems. Specific points and areas along these pathways are stimulated through techniques such as manual pressure, needles, heat, cupping, physical movement and stretching. These techniques decrease tension and pain, deepen sleep, support digestion and build immunity.
In Aquatic bodywork, the body is gently swayed, massaged and stretched into various shapes in warm water. The mind and body are invited to surrender, softening mental and physical tensions. When immersed, hydrostatic pressure gently presses the musculature and decompresses the joints. This mobilises our systemic blood circulation and improves innate self-healing.
Restorative bodywork has the global effects of relaxing the mind-heart-body, decreases pain and stress, balances energy, improves sleep and enhances our ability to live vital.
